When you ask God for big things, don’t be surprised when it takes big courage to do them.
It makes sense – the desire to protect yourself – but how do you do that and invest in community as we are called? How do you learn to trust people and protect yourself at the same time?
Comparison can kill – our hope, motivation, enthusiasm, and desire to move forward and pursue our dreams.
In the midst of good times and easy decisions, we may not stop to think about the bigger realities up ahead. So when you ask, “does it really matter?” I urge you to consider these things.
There would be no need for faith if God was always loud, outwardly active, and easily seen and understood. But sometimes – in fact, more often than not – He is working behind the scenes.
God isn’t looking for the most talented writer or most eloquent speaker to fulfill his will or spread his message and love. He’s looking for you.
Sometimes – like this time – you just need to lay it all out on the table, and allow his truth to answer every question and restore your faith in the midst of every fear.
Even when no door has opened in the past; even when our arm is tired and knuckles hurt from banging so much; even when it feels like God has forgotten about our needs, our dreams, our desires, we must knock anyway.
I began wrestling with the very real truth that though God is able to do anything, it doesn’t always mean he will.
